Shattrath City

A major hub for Outland in Terokkar Forest, Shattrath City is a city of portals. There will be portals to each of the 8 major hub cities in Azeroth – Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Silvermoon City, Stormwind, Ironforge, The Exodar and Darnassus. Mages will also be able to obtain a self port spell to Shattrath City as well as a group portal to the hub city of the expansion.
Alliance start out friendly with the Aldor and neutral with the Scryers while the Horde start out friendly with the Scryers and neutral with the Aldor. The Aldor have the Jewelcrafting trainer while the Scryers have the enchanting trainer. Each Faction controls a section of the city, accessible through lifts from the center city. The two sections are fully functional cities, with an innkeeper, general and trade goods vendor, and a bank. Mages can learn a portal spell to Shattrath City from a trainer located in the center of the city. The flight point for the city is in a neutral section of the city, with a flightmaster most excellently named Nutral.
Khadgar is located in the center of the city and he will give you a tour when you first enter.

City Guide
Shattrath City is the home of The Sha'tar (Naaru), The Aldor (Draenei) and The Scryers (Blood Elves). The fact that they are Draenei or Blood Elves doesn't have anything to do with Alliance or Horde though. They are all totally separate factions with no more of a link to one or the other.
Speaking of AH - there is no AH in Outland, just as there are no class trainers - you have to go to Old World. It is probably done on purpose by Blizzard :)
Battleground access is also available in Shattrath near the flight point. (In beta it was just in Terrace of Light, and then moved to Aldor/Scryer locations). And when you first come there, go just in center and get known by its inhabitants - really boring trip around city is something you have to go with.
There are banks in Shattrath - by Aldors and by Scryers - access to banks depends on your faction standing to those two factions. And they are not separated from normal banks as I have heard somewhere - it's just your worldwide faction bank. Which reminds me of nice upgrade in banking system - there are more slots available and slots are cheaper.
Alchemy profession can find Alchemy Lab (yes, the one only in BWL or Scholomance) by Skettis in Lower City.
Banks
There are two banks in Shattrath City, one belonging to The Aldor and the other belonging to The Scryers. Depending on which faction you are friendly with you can use one or the other as any other bank.
There are also two NPC's in each bank, selling items from that faction.
The Aldor
- Inscriber Saalyn - Aldor Inscriptions - offers various shoulder enchants based on your reputation with The Aldor.
- Quartermaster Endarin - The Aldor: Quartermaster - offers various recipes, plans, patterns and items based on your reputation with The Aldor.
The Scryers
- Inscriber Veredis - Scryer Insciptions - offers various shoulder enchants based on your reputation with The Scryers.
- Quartermaster Enuril - The Scryers: Quartermaster - offers various recipes, plans, patterns and items based on your reputation with The Scryers.
Terrace of Light
- Lathrai - quest giver and also sells Schematics
- Nutral - Flight Master
- The rest is inside the building in the centre.
- South - portals to New World Alliance cities
- East - portals to New World Horde and Ally cities and Ioroa portal trainer.
- Spymistress Mehlisah Suncrown
- East - G'Earas (Ethereal being) offers lvl 70 "hard mode" dungeon gear
- In the middle is A'dal (Lvl 73 Elite Ethereal) with Khadgar (Sons of Lothar) - here you get your introductory quest.
