Scourge

The Scourge is lead by the Lich King, formerly known as Arthas Menethil. They are mainly composed of former humans of Lordaeron (for unknown reasons, Blizzard have hinted), after Kel'Thuzad and the Cult of the Damned spread a plague over the kingdom, killing all humans (except Paladins, who are immune to disease), turning them into undead zombies. The Scourge were formerly under the control of the Burning Legion, but have broken free (much like the Forsaken broken free of the Lich King). Arthas still strive for world domination, and beyond. He will be one of the main characters of the next expansion: Wrath of the Lich King.
