Quel'thalas

The Kingdom established by the Night Elves that were banished from Kalimdor, and started calling themselves High Elves.

The Horde led by Orgrim Doomhammer took Caer Darrow and one of the High Elven Runestones that protected the kingdom. They then invaded Quel'thalas, burning much of the woods, and eradicated Stratholme (the Alliance's chief source of oil for that region). Many human and High Elven defenders were killed during the war, but the Alliance, aided by the holy Paladin warriors of The Knights of the Silver Hand, slowly won back Quel'thalas. By the time they reclaimed all the region much of the Elven Kingdom had been destroyed, even if the capital of Silvermoon never was breached.

Quel'Thalas, once a lush forest region and home to the High Elves, has now been blighted by the Death Knight Arthas. There are three specific areas currently belonging to Quel'Thalas, namely:

• Eversong Woods (Blood Elf starting area)
• Ghostlands
• Isle of Quel'Danas (home to the Sunwell, made available in Patch 2.4.0)

Quel'Thalas is connected to the mainland Eastern Kingdoms by way of the Thalassian Pass, in the south of the Ghostlands.
