Looks like Mages get nerfed and once again Holy Priests get very little.
I hate the 9% mana cost for sheep and Shackle. Spellpower also means that Healers and Casters will battle for weapons.

I feel like I should've been paying more attention to development, but there are so many fundamental changes to classes it feels like it's going to be a different game. Hopefully not a watered down game.
Two things that stand out that haven't been mentioned yet:
a) Druids get an OOC res. Woo
b) No more SoC for pallies. That's gotta suck if you're leveling ret...especially if they give a replacement ability for alliance post 70 (or up to SoB for horde)

Where do you get no more Seal of Command for Paladins?
They removed Seal of the Crusader, not Command.

Yeah...realized that but couldn't edit after I noticed. Gah :\
However, Alliance does get a version of seal of blood, and horde does get a version of seal of vengeance (that's not in the notes above I don't think).

If that is true, then it is about time, as SoB is much better for instances. SoC is still better overall for PvP however.

The new spell power won't affect the overall amount of rolls (i.e. casters fighting over items).
Lets say a lock and a priest both are in a party as the only casters (unreal I know). If there are 2 potential drops (healer and dps) that they both could use it used to be
Healer item: grats priest maybe lock will get lucky next time.
DPS item: grats lock maybe priest will get lucky next time.
Now it will be one of two potential items drop
Priest wins spellpower item: grats priest maybe lock will get lucky next time.

What It will stop is healing items dropping when everyone wants dps and vice versa

Yeah I agree. There have been times we"ll run someone new through kara, everyone else is geared, and this one new caster or new healer could use some drops. And nothing but healing items will drop and we are bringing a mage through kara for gear, well dang, we are DEing all the healing gear. Spellpower is nice in the regard that the commonality just increases odds of getting loot not decreasing them. Sure more people will roll on it at first, but it won't take as long for people to all get it since that's less types of items that can drop, more chances type you need will drop.

I have been looking forward to the new expansion for months but after reading this, I dread it.

Care to explain why? If anything, some of these changes are probably in line with what they're doing for gear (unifying stats) and the encounters will be built around it.
Don't forget that it's subject to change too. The sheep mana cost appears a bit steep for instance.

omg
Death Wish (Fury) no longer makes you immune to Fear effects.
Sword Specialization (Arms) can no longer trigger more than once per 6 seconds.
Overpower now only has one rank and no longer causes any bonus damage (i.e. weapon damage only).
gg blizz gg....im rerolling shadow priest...

Simply means that the old Trap Mastery skill has been removed and that Clever Traps has assumed its name.
What I find stranger is the following:
That's bit weird, considering that Bears do bite and claw, same applies to felines, and it even applies to various birds of prey. Granted, the latter use their "bite" more for ripping flesh off of a carcass, but still.
Side note, still haven't heard a bird or a turtle, or crab or scorpion or snake etc growl before either.

Where are these "beta patch notes" actually taken from? Right at the top where it says "Blizzard Quote: (Source)" the "Source" link is for http://worldofwar.net/ so does that mean there's no official source for these notes?
Well, anyways, one of the first things I noticed is:
"Mage
* Frost Armor, Ice Armor, Mage Armor and Molten Armor are no longer Magic effects and cannot be dispelled."
"Warlock
* Demon Skin, Demon Armor and Fel Armor are no longer Magic effects and cannot be dispelled."
These were added in patch 2.4.3, did Blizzard forget about that?
Second thing I noticed is that some of the grammar seems a little off, almost as if it was written in a foreign language and then auto-translated into english.
As others have also noticed, some of the "changes" do seem a little strange, but it is still early days and a lot could and probably will change!
