Flying Mounts in Northrend

Blue poster Wryxian earlier restated that we won't have to pay an arm and a leg to be able to use our flying mounts in Northrend. He also repeated that there will be some sort of process we'll have to go through to regain access to the snowy skies:

As you've mentioned, at the Worldwide Invitational it was stated that we'll be able to fly our current mounts -- and I assume, Druid flight form -- at level 77. Regarding the "defrosting" that was referred to at the developer panel, it was pretty clear from the way it was mentioned that it was a relatively off-the-cuff remark, intended only as an example of one possibility to achieve this. The only thing we can take from this is that currently it is planned that something will happen at level 77 to enable flight in Northrend but exactly what that something is, has yet to be revealed. |

I cant wait till I start flying around Northrend on my Nether drake mount! It took me over a month to grind the money/rep to buy him with my 2 lvl 70 characters.

Southerntank, I'm gonna assume you got a bit confused by ranger666's off topic comment:
No flying mounts in BGs, just in the normal outdoor areas of Northrend. And only from L77 after doing some, yet to be determined, "enabling action". Might be a quest, might need you to dive into some hotspring somewhere in Dragonblight, might need you to enchant your mount (mounts are gonna be enchantable) with "Northrend flying". Who knows. But no flying in Battlegrounds !
