The9, Supercomputers that power WoW?
Something that just caught my eye as I was surfing The Register, basically an article regarding The9 and their ownership of some of the most powerful supercomputers in China.
While it is unlikely that these particular servers are the same ones that power WoW, it does help to give us an idea of the enormous amount of processing needed to keep the big gaming servers of some modern games going. A cluster of 1950 cores for a single machine is nothing to be taken lightly. Makes you think about how demanding WoW must be and the server maintainance and upgrade costs that have to come out of our monthly subscriptions.

Or its part of the censorship requirements, have to track what all their customers are saying and doing. I mea if the US secret services think wow is a recrutiting and training ground for terrorists what must china think?
