P.S. For real tip on how to power level, try stock piling potions, twinking the new alt with enchanted BoE, and giving them tons of gold so they don't need to loot for repair cost. It doesn't hurt to be a balance druid and get a lvl 70 druid to follow you around because double Innervate and free heal is the winner.

3 : dont walk on the roads. walk beside the roads where you have things to kill all the time

But if all it takes to get to 70 is 28 hours of play, almost anyone can do this over a week with just 4 hours of play per day, which I think is reasonable for most casual players.

Would you have to make the character and then leave him for a few weeks to build up rest bonus before you got started? Or am I getting this wrong?

Then we can see what the xp/hr average ratio was. Its going to be absurd, i'm either goin to call BS or say its an exploit.

Remember this: The guy who was first from 60 to 70 took 28 hours, had been in the beta and knew the quests / areas and a guild mopping up after him.

Now we have people who claim to be doing 1-70 faster than this guy did 60-70?

its 4:30am here if anyone would like to confirm my numbers please do so, but if i had to say there is something these 3 are not telling us.

rest bonus goes up to 1 and 1/2 levels and stays there. you cant get more than that at one time. my bank toon has been a bank for 3 months now and will only get 1.5 levels or rest bonus. after that, it turns regular.

Note - that was his /played time at 70, not from 69-70. He dinged 70, then wandered around a bit - ended up in Shattrath, and nowhere near the questgiver that gave him that last bit of XP.

As for Athene's rested bonus question - the story I read (the one with the picture that Maticus posted) mentioned that GMs were watching the accelerated leveling speed. They went straight through - no rested bonus - and seem to have done it legitimately.

It's very fishy and there's no way to prove anything. To argue if it's possible is moot. Just accept the fact that there is an exploit somewhere that they've found and is still considered "legit". Kinda like the hole that used to be in the alli fence in WSG back in the day. I used the hell out of it and it wasn't really an "exploit" cause anyone could use it.

While I can't remember the exact number, I can see from one of my alts that 68->69 is 768K xp so assuming that 69->70 is roughly 800K then the "burst xp" at that end is roughly 2.6 MILLION xp per hour to achieve that in 18 minutes.

Ok, the only way something like that would even be remotely possible would be to save all the quests from 66 on and then just run around and turn them all in for 10-15K xp per. The real clue would be how long it took to get from 68->69 etc. I would relate this to Rep grinding where you save the turnins for the last bit that is usually the hardest and just use trash mobs for the "easy" bit.

Of course in 25 hours, when the heck would that "easy" part be? lol

This just some moron that wants attention and makes videos to do it - and guess what - he's getting the attention he wants.
