View Full Version : How has TBC impacted your BGs

Just wondering how TBC has changed your BG's. I imagine not too many ppl are above 30 so I guess this will apply mostly to the 10-19 range. In my server as an Alliance player the Allinace is winning more since TBC has been introduced. I don't know if its more new ppl joining the horde or what.
Also Paladins are a pain in the arse to kill. But they haven't made that much of a difference IMO.

The biggest impact that TBC has had on BG's on my server is that there are none anymore.
Had a look at queues the day after burning crusade released, AV - 0, AB - 2 WSG - 2, given that the week before there was a minimum of 20 of each at all times thats a pretty serious impact!
Que times are shorter for Alliance this week. All the BE pallies. I've seen severly make the rookie mistake of trying to bubble while they had the flag..........easiest flag recovery evar!
For the most part I think shamans have made the biggest impact in this bracket, which I didn't expect since Shaman twinks are very rare.
I started a Shaman, partial twink, all the gear no enchants. I'm owning everything except hunters and full twinks.

Well, none of my 6x will be BGing until they hit 70 now. My lv 2x shammy might shake her thang a little at 29, since a bit of lupine flag running could be fun. However, most people who have been playing the game for a while will be levelling either former-60s or new toons, so don't expect much action for a bit. The new BG might be surprisingly crowded; maybe the dull-and-mindless quake3-stylee arenas will be as quiet as they deserve for a while..
Hell, I picked up a blue lv 64 bow which is a pretty solid rival to the rank 14 crossbow yesterday, so maybe the smart money really is on exploring some of the spiffy new PvE content for now.

The reason Alliance are now winning more in that bracket is because of all the alliance rolling BE's and watering down the Horde PvP talent pool.

Now horde looses (10-19WSG) on my server about 3 to 1. All because of BE - it's full of PUGs. Most of them "never heal" pallies.

I as well as many others predicted the mass re-rolling of the countless number of NE hunters over to the horde side as BE chars. Now the horde can enjoy blizzard giving your faction a race that appeals to the younger player who wants to name his char legolassz.

I picked up some Hellfire quest rewards, some drops and one pair of pants bought in the AH. All greens, replacing blues. Upped my +crit and +damage dramatically (mage here). Went to battlegrounds (still 60) to see how I stand. I'm a regular Monitor gun turret now. A destroyer of Horde. Another frost mage and I sat at the Arathi farm, and the Horde couldn't take it back. People I know are dumping all their Dire Maul, Scholo, Strat plans and just enjoying the tremendous drops in the new zones/instances.

We (alliance) have won all but one of the bg's i've been on in the last few days (thats about 15).
Before BC it was usually around 50-50

I had a blast bringing my 63 mage into WSG the other night. I was completly destroying all opposition without a problem....as most of them were still level 60!

Im thinking the main reason there are hardly any bgs going on is because either people are levelling their 60s to 70 to compete in the new bracket; or people are rerolling new toons and they are not ready to bg yet.
Give it time and itll be back on track.

I'm just glad I dont need to rely on others anymore for pvp rewards. I have a friend who is exceptionally skilled with his Holy Paladin. I like to think that I play my Warlock well and I know a Mage who is a PvP god. Will satisfy most of my pvp requirements with 3 v 3 Arena.

as for this my builds for a team i will test when 70.
hunter/rouge/mage = dps like wtf (my best freind being the first 70 mage on my realm with beastly armors including full gm set and weapons)
warrior/pally/hunter= don't know just c loose friends to me :)
2v2
hunter / rouge
hunter/lock
but we will have to see to test our theory's of arena mode

I dont get it, I played WSG all weekend off and on with my 36 alliance druid. We won two matches. Thats it, I ran 50 instances. I was barking orders and trying to get some team cohesion in the first dozen or so, but nobody seemed to give a darn.. So from Saturday evening into Sunday I was just running around naked, dancing. I don't understand how you can have different mixes of people every match and get the same outcome. The alliance just won't work together and its extremely FRUSTRATING!

Were you fighting Horde premades the entire time?
WSG, premade in a guild enviroment (vent), is the fastest was to farm honor, by FAR.
Get flags 3x, done.

Premade means they are all from the same server? I haven't been looking for that until lately but haven't seen one where everyone on horde side was same server... sometimes 2 or 3 will be from the same server. *shrug* Alliance just seems to suck, I watch them stream out of the graveyard, alone, straight into a pack of several horde only to die seconds later. Re....tarded. :undecided:

I don't know if it's different on the EU servers, but on US servers, since it's cross-server queue, we should all be seeing relatively the same results, right?
In my level bracket 40-49, we're still steamrolling the Alliance most of the time in AB, and about 60% of the time in WSG. Not a lot has changed and the BE pallies aren't doing that bad at all. I'm actually kind of surprised. I would assume that most of the BE pallies that are in their 40's now are pretty hardcore players, though, so that might be the reason.

The magic moment in Alterac is gone. Not talking about the Horde flag cap bug. I mean the moment where a TBC buyer could make a quick gear run through Hellfire then enter AV and dominate. What AV's there are now (few) contain lots of level 67-70 players. A 70 rogue was camping Alliance gy's ganking 60s in one hit. Not a lot of fun in it for me at 61.

idk im not stepping back into it till i hit lvl 70 :P main reason of that is because of lvl 70s >.>
i noticed that horde has been winning most of the AV's nowdays.

I ventured into the 40-49 bracket of AB, and Alliance sucked more than usual. I was only level 45, but man, we spanked them and spanked them hard. Alliance did a good job of ninjaing a few nodes now and then, but they never managed to hold on to them for long. Fastest, easiest, honor. Ever. The 5 caps, no matter how brief, garunteed that.
Other than that, the qeue times for all BGs not 60+ has sunken like a rock. No, wait. Gone up in smoke. DAMIT. Risen faster than a runaway hot ballon. Bah, the analogy sucks, but at least it works.
On the other hand, I've met a few suprisingly competent Paladin BEs. One was a level 21 or something in AB. Surprisingly, he did not suck. Then again, he had the Concentration aura up, so he was probably Holy speced. Still didn't keep him from kicking ass left and right. I was expecting him to suck a lot more. Ah, life is full of the little good things. :cloud9:

Was upwards of 100 AV, and 50+ AB/WSG, after TBC not 1. Not even 1 60-69 BG or 30-40 BG that I've seen. Once I put my 38 rogue in the que while I was grinding around Arathi. 6 hours no BG.

So far I've managed to lvl my new Draenai Hunter up to 30..........he hung out and waited at 29 for 4 or 5 days while waiting for my usual group to catch up to my level so we could continue on together. I did nothing but BG for those 4 or 5 days and I never had a queue longer than 5 mins. Granted there were only like 5 or 6 going in both WSG and AB, but since we have had back to back weekends I think it helped. My hunter has a few nice low level PvP rewards now for my efforts. I will have to see what the brackets look like as I continue to level however.
I like to use a little PvP pwnage to break up the sometimes monotonous task of lvling.
